The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 33-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 28-1/4 inches. The blade has fullers on both sides, and approximately 15 inches of each side of the blade is blued with gold flag and cannon decorations. The sword has a brass, 5 ball, D guard with eagle head pommel and a natural material grip. Both the grip and the D guard are somewhat loose. The leather scabbard is dry and shows typical flaking, with a single suspension ring on the throat mount. The leather section of the scabbard with the brass drag is separated from the body of the scabbard.
