WWI 48th Highlanders of Canada Corporal Tunic

The tunic exhibits the insignia of the 48th Highlanders of Canada on both the collar and shoulder straps. Each shoulder bears the wool formation signs of the 15th Battalion of the 1st Division. Both sleeves also bear corporal chevrons. The lower left sleeve has the proficiency badge for the Lewis Gun above a good conduct chevron and two brass wound stripes. The right sleeve has the blue chevrons which reflect three years of overseas service after January 1, 1915. On the right shoulder is a pistol lanyard. The tunic has a few small holes in the back, and a small hole on the lower right sleeve. The tunic is missing the shoulder strap button on the left shoulder and the button on the upper right chest pocket. Overall the tunic is in very good condition and it makes a very fine appearance.
