WWI Marine Corps Photograph Album
$425.00
The large format photograph album measures approximately 11 inches by 15 inches. It contains approximately 172 photographs of which approximately 71 photographs relate to the Marine Corps enlistment and training of the album’s owner and his friends. The first page of the album indicates that the photographs were taken during a six month period from July of 1918 into January of 1919. Virtually every one of the Marine Corps photographs bears a handwritten caption. The photos cover the period from the entry into the Corps through training at Paris Island, and the photographs provide an excellent study of a variety of U.S. Marine Corps uniforms and equipment during World War I. In addition to the Marine Corps photographs the album contains approximately 101 scenic photographs of Canada and the United States, most of which were commercially printed.
