WWII Army Type 95 NCO Sword by Nagoya Arsenal with Matching Numbers
$975.00
The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 38 inches, with a blade length of approximately 26 1/2 inches. The blade is quite bright, showing only minor scratches and smudges. The blade bears serial number 117011, which also appears on the scabbard throat. The fact that the sword was produced by the Nagoya Arsenal is reflected by the fact that the number on the blade is positioned so that it can be read when the sword is held with the cutting edge facing upwards (the numbers on the swords produced by the Tokyo arsenal were in the opposite position). The ferrule is without inspector, arsenal, or company marks. The paint on the grip is approximately 80% intact. The tsuba is the plain iron style. A leather sword knot remains tied to the pommel – which has a replaced strap and original knot. The scabbard paint shows wear but remains quite presentable. Overall the sword is in very good to excellent condition.
