The blade of the bayonet is very bright, with a few light spots of dirt and verdigris on each side, but with the blade having an overall excellent appearance. The ricasso bears the lion trademark of the firm of Carl Lutters & Cie (Lowenwerk), of Solingen. A leather washer is in place at the top of the blade. The black Bakelite grip plates are without chips or cracks. Thr pommel and the guard both show loss of the plated finish. The scabbard retains approximately 60 percent of the black paint.
