WWII Scutzemine 42 Box Mine
A small wooden box that was designed as an anti-personnel mine by the German military, with the container being invisible to mine detection equipment. The box is dovetail construction, about 5 by 4 by 2 inches, with a hinged lid. The hinge on one side is broken. The box mine shows age but it is complete. The box would have been packed with explosive powder and stepping on the lid would have activated a detonator that protruded from a opening in one end of the box.
