WWII Norman Rockwell Paratrooper “Homecoming” War Bonds Poster
A scarce World War II poster which depicts a young American paratrooper (note the boots and bloused trousers of his uniform) returning home to a joyous welcome from his family, his neighbors, his dog, and his girlfriend (who hides around the corner of the building to surprise him). The multiple service star flags in the windows were typical of many such homes and streets in the nation, and Norman Rockwell captured perfectly a moment that was to be repeated throughout America when the war ended. Approximately 20 by 30 inches in size. Excellent condition, with bright colors. The poster has light fold lines, since all posters after the beginning of the war were machine folded at the time of printing.
