WWII K98 Dress Bayonet
German dress bayonet, approximately 14 inches in overall length in the scabbard. The blade is very bright with some typical scratches and some relatively minor wear marks to the plating on the lower areas as a result of insertion and removal from the scabbard. The leather washer remains in place at the top of the ricasso. The plating on the pommel and guard is in very good condition. The mortise button on the pommel is functioning. The rifle slot has its original red wool insert. The black checkered Bakelite grip plates are without chips or cracks. The painted black finish of the scabbard shows wear and crackling to he finish, and it is approximately 80% intact. The black leather frog is present, showing crazing over most of the surfaces from heat. Overall the bayonet is in very good to excellent condition.
