WWII Japanese Colonial Service Sword

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 33-1/2 inches, with a blade length of approximately 25 inches. The blade shows typical spots and scratches, but it is generally quite bright, with a distinct false temper line, and without nicks, chips, or rust. The folding guard and the pommel retain the fire gilt finish, showing a toned and uncleaned patina. The ray skin grip covering remains tightly wrapped with wire. The scabbard shows some minor scuffs but is is without damage. Overall the sword is in excellent condition.
