WWII Japanese Army Lieutenant Colonel Open Collar Tunic
The open collar tunic is tailored from a fine quality lighter weight olive green wool with a partial cotton lining, an uncommon type of tunic perhaps best known as the style worn by “Colonel Saito” in the film “Bridge on the River Kwai”. The lapels carry the rank tabs of an Army Lieutenant Colonel. The upper left breast has two loops for the wear of a long ribbon bar or a medal bar. The tunic has a few small, scattered holes, the largest being on the left lower front, just above the end of the flap of the lower pocket. Overall the tunic is in very good condition and it makes an excellent appearance.
