WWII Army Air Force & Navy Aviation Photo Albums
Two large World War II photograph albums, one of which was apparently assembled by a member of the Army Air force and the other being largely focused on U.S. Navy Aviation subjects.
One album, approximately 13 1/4 by 10 1/4 inches, contains about 326 photographs. The photos were most all taken in Italy and several photos show soldiers wearing the shoulder patch of the 12th Army Air Force. One photo depicts the base sign of the 86th Fighter Group in Pisa. A number of photographs show war damaged building while others show German military cemeteries. Several photographs show B-25 bombers while others depicts damaged German aircraft and vehicles. There are, of course, quite a few photographs of pretty girls. The front album cover is detached.
The second album is approximately 13 1/4 by 10 1/4 inches and contains about 104 photographs of various sizes, most all of which show subjects relating to Navy aviation. There are portrait photographs of senior Naval aviators, photographs of carrier operations, and photos of inspections by senior officers. There are a number of photographs of war damaged buildings but the locations are not specified.
