WWI U.S. Marine Corps Campaign Hat
Issue USMC campaign hat with turned under brim with double row of stitching. The wool hat shows expected signs of age and use but it is in overall very good condition, with some minor surface tracking. The large eagle, globe and anchor insignia is secured to the front peak of the cap with the two metal prongs that are on the rear of the insignia. The full grosgrain ribbon is in place around the crown. Missing its leather sweatband, the leather chin strap remains on the hat, although one end of the strap is broken and so, rather than that end of the strap being secured on top of the brim with a knot in the end, the end of the strap is without a knot and it is pinned in place with a staple.
