WWI Imperial German Prussian Artillery Officer Lion Head Sword

A Prussian Artillery Officer heavy deluxe Lion Head sword with a 33″ blade and an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 38 inches. The spine is acid etched “Waarenhaus Fur Armee & Marine, Berlin”. The heavy, nickel plated blade is generally quite bright, with typical runner marks and scattered spots, as well as light freckling to about 5% of the blade surface, particularly beneath the langet. It appears that there may be a manufacturer’s mark beneath the langet but this is difficult to discern. The deluxe brass fittings retain approximately 30% of their original fire gilt finish. The wire-wrapped shark skin grip displays moderate wear. There is one rivet missing from the grip side panel. The black painted scabbard retains approximately 95% of its original finish, with some freckling, especially near the throat. Overall very good condition.
