WWI Army Officer Campaign Hat
The olive drab wool campaign hat shows signs of wear and use but still retains a shape that gives it much character. The grosgrain hat band remains present, with the black and gold cap cord of an army officer. The gold bullion of the cord is nicely toned with age. The interior leather sweatband is gone. A partial manufacturer label remains on the interior. The officer obviously encountered a problem with the original leather chin strap (most probably it broke) and it was replaced by a fabric cord that appears to have been created by braiding two boot laces.
