Very Clean Named “Ihara” WWII Japanese Army First Lieutenant’s Uniform

The uniform is comprised of the olive green ribbed wool tunic and the matching breeches. The collar of the tunic carries the rank tabs of a First Lieutenant of the Imperial Japanese Army. On the right breast pocket flap is stitched kanji which appears to be the abbreviation for “Platoon”. The interior of the tunic shows the officer’s name of “Ihara”, embroidered in kanji in red thread. The uniform is a fine example of a high quality officer’s uniform, with the tunic having the opening in the lower side for wear of the officer’s sword. Both the tunic and the matching breeches show very little wear. The cloth jacket hanging loop on the interior collar is torn, and there is one extremely small hole on the interior side of the left leg of the breeches, this being far too small to even measure. Aside from these factors, and some typical signs of light wear, the uniform shows no spots, stains, or holes and remains in excellent condition and quite impressive in appearance.
