Type 30 Kokura Arsenal Arisaka Bayonet in Combat Cover

Hooked quillon cross guard, bird head pommel, slightly contoured wood grips, and a blade with the manufacturer mark of the Kokura Arsenal. The blade is the blued style and much of the original finish remains intact. The pommel is serial numbered. The scabbard is steel and the soldier who carried this bayonet fashioned a cloth “combat cover” which was sewn around the scabbard. The cloth cover is worn away at the bottom of the scabbard and there is a hole in the cover on the reverse side which corresponds to a shallow dent in the scabbard. The leather carrying frog is attached to the bayonet. A very interesting example of an Arisaka bayonet that was modified for combat operations. Overall in very good field used condition.
