Third Reich Machine Woven Non-Members of the Armed Forces Armband with Issue Stamp and G.I. Name
The armband for Non-Members of the Armed Forces (“Nicht-Wehrmachtangehorige”) was introduced in 1937 for wear by combatants who were not members of the armed forces. Machine woven eagle on a golden yellow cotton base. The armband has a visible issue stamp and some soiling from wear and use. A name is handwritten on the back of the armband that appears to be “Billy Walker”, likely the name of the American G.I. who brought the armband home as a souvenir.
