Cased Japanese Navy 1st Class Carpentry Badge

From the excellent website “Imperial Japan Medals and Badges” dot com: “Awarded to NCOs who could repair anything on a vessel, from artillery to torpedoes. There was a course that they had to pass in naval engineering skills.” The badge is in excellent condition with fine finish and dark, uncleaned patina. It is contained within its fitted, titled leather case, which shows expected signs of age and wear.
