Signed 17th Century Gunto Blade in WWII Era Japanese Army Officer Mounts

The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of approximately 38 inches, with a blade length of approximately 26-1/2 inches. The blade is generally very clean, having a visible temper line,  and showing some surface grime, a matte film, and scattered spots, while being without nicks, chips, or rust. The tang is signed “Noboyushi”. The grip is wrapped in the traditional style in black fabric, while beneath the fabric wrap are the standard military menuki of three cherry blossoms. The tsuba is the solid iron style with several incised markings. The scabbard is black lacquered wood and it shows typical scuffs but it is complete and intact. Overall the sword is in excellent condition.
