Red Cross EM/NCO Hewer Marked “Leipzig” on Backstrap
The blade is generally bright, with surface dirt and some scattered speckling. The leather washer is in place at the top of the ricasso. The black Bakelite grip plates are without chips or cracks. The plating of the pommel and the guard is largely intact, with some speckling of the surfaces and some spots of wear to the plating on the pommel top and reverse side. The black scabbard paint is approximately 95 percent intact. The full leather frog is in place, showing signs of wear but being supple and intact. The lower reverse of the frog is marked with the letter “H”. Backstrap is stamped “543 Leipzig”. Overall the hewer is in very good condition.
