M1912 New York State Field Grade Officer Visor Cap

The cap is in excellent condition, with the high quality wool body being quite clean and without stains, holes, or repairs. The New York State insignia is directly embroidered in gold and silver bullion on the front peak of the cap. The visor exhibits gold bullion oak leaves directly embroidered on to the visor, with the bullion leave showing age toning. The leather visor exhibits typical fine age crazing and there is one broken bullion beaded thread on one of the leaves. The gilt chin strap shows toning and it is retained on the sides by gold buttons bearing the New York State seal. The interior retains the full leather sweatband, which shows signs of use and the loss of some stitching. Both the sweatband and the lining are complete, and the lining bears the imprinted logo of the military clothier of Ridabock & Company of New York. The sweatband has a size tag of 6-7/8. Overall excellent condition.
