M1861 Federal Cartridge Box / Experimental Arteration

The exterior lid is embossed with the oval “US” emblem. Single interior tin compartment with four sections is present and all straps and buckles are intact. A riveted leather loop holding a brass hook has been added for use with an experimental brace system. The leather is dry and there is some flaking of the exterior surfaces.
