Luftwaffe “L.G.” Breast Insignia

A machine embroidered gold Luftwaffe eagle on a black cotton base. The exact meaning of this insignia remains unknown, but it was likely worn by personnel assigned to a “Luft Gau” (“Air Zone”). The insignia is depicted in “Uniforms & Traditions of the Luftwaffe” by Angolia and Schlicht, Volume 2, page 150.  The insignia is unused.
