The exterior of the canteen shows paint that has spots of wear, but it is largely intact. The canteen is a wartime production example, when the canteen design reflected the economy measures of eliminating the leather stopper strap with metal buckles, and eliminating the metal buckles from the shoulder strap. The shoulder strap has indistinct issue stamps. Overall very good field used condition.
