Japanese Army EM/NCO Canteen
The exterior paint of the canteen is largely intact, showing typical scuffs from use in the field. The fabric harness and shoulder strap exhibit soiling. The canteen has a leather stopper retention strap with buckles, making this an early war example before the wartime economy measure that replaced the leather stopper strap with a fabric strap. The shoulder strap similarly shows the earlier wartime use of metal adjustment buckles, later eliminated as an additional economy measure. The wood stopper is in place. The harness has stitched kanji, likely the name of the owner of the canteen. Overall very good field used condition.
