The cap has a light khaki colored wool top with a red wool cap band and red piping. An imperial cockade is affixed to the front of the cap band. The cap has some light spots on the exterior and it shows signs of wear on the interior. there is a hole in the blue silk lining at a spot where there was at one time apparently a stamp or written designation. The interior sweatband has a paper manufacturer label with a penciled size of 56.
