Imperial German 13th (Schleswig-Holstein) Ulan Regiment Reservist Stein
The porcelain 1/2 liter stein has a overall height of approximately 12 1/2 inches. The stein is named to a Reservist Schmaler, who served in the regiment from 1905 to 1908. The central figure of a regimental Ulan with flags and a shoulder board is flanked by scenes of an Ulan with his sweetheart and a column of Ulanen riding to battle. The lid is slightly loose – the result of the patent thumb lift, and it appears that the rider on the finial may have had a lance in one hand at one time. The stein has a lithopane base of a soldier with his sweetheart and overall the stein is in near mint condition, being free of chips or cracks.
