Identified WWII Marine Corps Photo Album
A photograph album, 8 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches, with a soft suede leather cover, embossed with Marine Corps insignia and the designation of “Bourne Field” in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. The album was assembled by Guy H. Stumbaugh, Jr., a Marine Corps airplane and engine mechanic. The album contains Stumbaugh’s equator crossing certificate and several pages with the names and addresses of fellow Marines. The album contains approximately 166 photographs, most all of them of Marines, sailors, and aircraft on St. Thomas. There are also 3 “Ruptured Duck” discharge patches, two on khaki and one on Marine green material. There is also a copy of Guy Stumbaugh’s obituary from an on line source.
