Identified West Point Graduate 82nd Airborne Division Paratrooper Insignia and Medal Group

The group is comprised of a West Point Reunion Medal with the name “Daoust”. This was George Arlington Daoust, Jr., who graduated with the class of 1945, and whose assignments included the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division. Other assignments included the Headquarters of the European Command and the 187th Airborne Regimental Combat Team in Japan in 1954 and 1955. He retired from the Army in 1967 as a Lieutenant Colonel, with decorations which included the Legion of Merit. The group also includes 9 large removable “USMA Cadet” buttons as well as 5 small removable “USMA Cadet” buttons. The group further includes four West Point distinctive insignia, three in black and one in blue, all being pin back. One black insignia shows some chips.
