Identified Mexican Border, WWI 1st Engineer Company Purple Heart and Victory Medal Group

The group is comprised of the Mexican Border Service Campaign Medal, full wrap brooch suspension, and with the edge numbered 36204; a Purple Heart, full wrap brooch suspension, named to “Thomas C. Cornwell”, and with the edge numbered 23458; and a World War I Victory Medal with five clasps for “Montdidier-Noyen”; “Aisne-Marne”; “St. Mihiel”; “Meuse-Argonne”; and “Defensive Sector”. The ribbons show wear but they are intact. The bottom stitching of the brooch on the Victory Medal has been lost and so the brooch is not flat against the ribbon reverse, but the brooch remains securely attached to the ribbon.
