Civil War German Import Staff and Field Officer Sword by Clauberg

The sword has a blade length of approximately 32 inches. The blade is dark, but the acid etched embellishments of the blade remain visible. The blade has a few small nicks on the cutting edge. One side of the ricasso bears a “Proved +” mark, while the spine bears the etched designation of “Iron Proof”. The opposite side of the ricasso bears the name and the mark of the Clauberg firm. The rayskin grip is intact, with intact wire wrapping. The Nickel Silver pommel and guard show an uncleaned patina. The steel scabbard has a break on one side but the scabbard remains intact.
