Cased WWII Japanese War Wound Badge

The badge is in excellent condition, with a toned finish. The kanji on the reverse designates this badge as the “koushou” style, which was awarded to those military personnel who had been wounded in the public service, but most often given when a soldier contracted a disease such as malaria. The titled wooden case is missing two of its four interior slats, so that the lid is not snug on the base and the interior pad is loose in the case.
