Cased and Named Korean War Bronze Star / Army Commendation Medals Group


The group is comprised of the cased Bronze Star decoration, slot brooch suspension, unnamed as awarded in the Theater of Operations, including the enamel lapel badge; the cased Army Commendation Medal, with slot brooch suspension with a lower crimped edge, officially hand engraved “Louis P. McCuller”, with ribbon bar; and the 1952 General Orders Extract of the X CorpsĀ  in Korea awarding the Bronze Star to Major McCuller, who was serving in the artillery. The plastic Army Commendation Medal case shows age spots. The website of Arlington National Cemetery, where McCuller is buried, provides the following information on McCuller: “Colonel McCuller, who lived in Annandale, was born in Sanford, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida.He began his Army career in 1941 and served at posts in the United States during World War II. He was commander of an artillery unit in Korea during the Korean War. Later posts included duty in Germany and at the Pentagon, where he retired in 1966.”
