$18.00
Soft cover, 268 pages, illustrated with drawings and diagrams. A book written by scientists for the soldiers traveling to the theater of operations on the troop transport ship, with information on sea life that might be observed, star formations visible at sea, navigation, and other subjects to occupy the time and energies of the soldiers on the transport ships. The inside title page has a stamp of “3rd Platoon, Co. D, 5th Bn.”, so it would appear that the unit owned this particular copy to make available to the men on the ship, and someone walked off with it.
