1939 Dated German Army Engineer EM/NCO Visor Cap
A very good teller shaped EM/NCO visor cap for the Army engineering branch, constructed of ribbed field gray wool and a dark green wool cap band, all piped in the black waffenfarbe of the engineering, or pioneer, branch. The exterior remains in very good condition. There is some light scuffing to the visor surface and to the chin strap. The interior retains almost its entire celluloid sweat shield. The hat is marked as a size 55. There is some damage to the leather sweat band and the lining in the front of the cap. The underside of the leather sweat band bears two stamps, both dated 1939 (although the “1” is missing from one of the stamps) and these were apparently the stamps of the cap manufacturer and the cap retailer.
