Japanese Group of 5 Silk Axis Flags on Short Staffs
click for an even bigger image

A group of five silk flags of the Axis powers from World War II period Japan. Each flag is approximately 8 inches by 11 1/2 inches in size, secured to a wooden staff approximately 18 inches long. The flags are secured to the staffs by a loop of thread at the top and bottom corner of the hoist side of the flag. The flags are:
- Japanese national flag;
- Japanese Rising Sun flag;
- Manchuko flag;
- Italy flag;
- Third Reich swastika national flag.
Some of the flags have small holes but make an impressive presentation collectively. One of the two securing loops of thread have broken on the flag of Manchko (easily repaired) and on the Japanese national flag there is a tear od 1 1/2 inch at the upper hoist corner, but the flag is still secured to the staff. Overall very good condition to the group, and quite impressive.
