WWII Kriegsmarine EM/NCO M41 Tropical Field Cap
World WAr II German Navy enlisted man or NCO's tropical M41 field cap, constructed of tan ribbed cotton twill with stitched down side panels with a scalloped front. The cap has two enameled ventilation grommets to each side just below the top crown seam. The front center of the cap features a machine woven national eagle in golden yellow threads on a woven tan rayon base, positioned above a machine woven national cockade on a woven tan rayon diamond base. The eagle and the cockade are meticulously hand sewn to the cap with stitches that do not penetrate the lining of the cap. The cap has a long front visor with a tan cotton twill covering mounted on an internal cardboard stiffener. The interior of the cap is fully lined in light weight dark green material. The crown has a central seam which is correctly stitched right through the internal lining for added strength. The interior liner is stamped by the manufacturer, located in Bremen, and dated 1942. The size stamp appears to be 59. The cap shows evidence of only slight wear. Excellent condition.
