WWII Japanese Signed Flag / Comfort Bag & Papers
I bought this group contained in the comfort bag at a flea market in Tokyo. The cotton flag measures 30" X 33-1/2" and retains its corner reinforcements and strings. The comfort bag shows very heavy use, the flag exhibits a few small holes and the papers show minor wear. According to the papers, the group was owned by Takeda Genji who was a QMC driver in the Yamagata Regiment. The flag is signed by baseball players and relatives and displays a number of mottos which include "Thanks For Fighting In The Field", "Be In Front Of The March", "100 Battles 100 Victories" and "Keep Your Sportsmanship".
