click for an even bigger image

Recently deaccessioned by a Vietnam War museum. A group of five propaganda leaflets created by the Viet Cong and directed towards American troops. The leaflets have four different images on one side (one of the five leaflets being a duplicate) and they all have the same language on the opposite side. The leaflets make reference to "Johnson" and "McNamara", dating the leaflets to a period before 1969, when President Lyndon Johnson left office and Robert McNamara ended his service as Secretary of Defense. The leaflets are approximately 3 1/2 by 5 inches in size. They have all been sealed within plastic laminate. Also with the leaflets are two newspaper clippings regarding U.S. Marines in combat, as well as a handwritten note from the Marine who brought the leaflets home, with his name and unit. The newspaper clippings and note are also laminated.
