Korean War Navy Airship Squadron Flight Jacket Patch
A large, original, circa 1951 flight jacket patch for U.S. Navy Airship Squadron ZP-3, a lighter than air combat unit that was based at Lakehurst, New Jersey, and which carried out coastal defense operations, including anti-submarine patrols, in the Cold War period. The patch is approximately 4 3/4 inches wide by 6 inches high. The patch is a great, comical, design of a sailor holding a bomb and riding a fearsome zeppelin, about to attack a submarine in the ocean below. It is in excellent, unused condition and it does not fluoresce under ultra violet light.
