Weimar Era Bavarian Civil Service Visor Cap
click for an even bigger image

Royal blue wool body and cap band with the same blue piping. The cap band displays a wreathed Weimar eagle insignia. The cap peak carries a state colors cockade on which the central section is cloth which looks beige in color. The original color may have faded or there may have been a colored disk over top of the cloth center at one point. The style of the cap, the blue color, and the fact that the interior lining is marked to a maker in Munich all suggest that the cap was likely a Bavarian Civil Servant's cap. The wool cap body has a number of moth holes and the black leather visor is loose at one end where the stitching has broken.
