Named WWII ETO / Pacific Navy Medal Group
A group of the seven medals awarded to Francis Joseph Dooley for service in the United States Navy before and during World War II. The group also includes Dooley's Navy dog tag. The group is comprised of Dooley's Navy Good conduct Medal, full wrap brooch, officially hand engraved on four lines "Francis Joseph Dooley 1940"; American Defense Medal, slot brooch, with the "A" device on the ribbon reflecting that Dooley was in actual or potential belligerent contact with Axis Powers in the Atlantic Ocean between June 22 and December 7, 1941; American Campaign Medal, crimp brooch; European Campaign Medal, crimp brooch (interestingly, this medal has on the ribbon the "Fleet" bar that was intended for wear on the American Defense Medal, but it appears to have been present on the medal for a very long time); Pacific Campaign Medal, crimp brooch; World War II Victory Medal, crimp brooch; and the Philippine Liberation Medal of the Philippines Government, on a crimp brooch. The group is accompanied by Dooley's U.S. Navy dog tag. Very good condition overall.
