Field Gray Luftschutz M38 Beaded Gladiator Helmet
click for an even bigger image

A very interesting example of the M38 beaded Luftschutz gladiator style helmet that was painted in a field grey color, indicating use of the helmet in the field. The exterior field gray paint is nearly 100% intact. The dome of the helmet has perhaps four shallow indentations from use that do not detract from the appearance of the helmet. The Luftschutz decal on the front of the helmet is approximately 95% or better intact. The interior liner shows wear and use and it is lacking the drawstring but it is complete and intact. There were sections of fabric applied behind the liner tongues to provide additional padding for the owner. The interior of the rear rim is impressed "RL2-38/28" and bears the full manufacturer decal. The liner band is stamped with the size of "54". The helmet lacks a chin strap. Overall very good combat used condition.
