Prussian M1894 1st Guard Regiment Grenadier Helmet
The Model 1894 grenadier miter helmet worn by the members of the 1st or 2nd battalions of the 1st Guard Regiment of Foot of Prussia. Approximately 11 3/4 inches tall. The helmet body is red wool trimmed with white. The large front plate bears the "Semper Talis" motto of the 1st or 2nd battalions. The helmet lacks a chin strap. The wool body of the helmet is quite clean, with some relatively minor fraying of the white fabric trim. The metal front plate and rear metal trim both exhibit a fine, uncleaned, patina. The helmet is lacking the liner and the fabric pom-pom that would have been located on the point of the helmet.
