Named WWII White Top Navy Officer Cap with Ship ID
A white top World War II U.S. Navy officer's visor cap that is named to the owner and which identifies his ship as the attack transport USS Seminole, a ship that took part in combat operations in the Pacific during World War II and again in the Korean War, including the landings at Inchon. The cap is named to Lieutenant C.L.N. Erdman. The cap is tagged as a size 7 1/4. It has typical age crazing of the visor. The gold chin cord is nicely toned. The white cotton top is quite clean. The interior shows wear and use, and the leather sweat band is detached in one or two spots, but it remains intact and complete. The cap is identified as "The Commodore" style, manufactured by the Ratner Company. It is in overall very good used condition.
