Early Model 1902 U.S. Army Officer Sword

An early example of the Model 1902 U.S. Army officer sword, this sword having the horn grip used on the initial pieces. The nickel plated guard and back strap have an old patina with typical spots but with the plating intact. The blade is triple etched, with decorative and patriotic designs on both sides of the blade and the spine. The ricasso is manufacturer marked by the Pettibone Company. The blade has a few small spots but is generally bright. The scabbard, like the sword itself, is bright with intact plating and no dents. The sword has an overall length in the scabbard of 39 inches.
