1939 Luftwaffe EM/NCO Signals Unit Visor Cap
click for an even bigger image

A very nice and impressive example of the visor cap of an enlisted man or NCO in a Luftwaffe Signals unit. The cap body is in ribbed Luftwaffe blue-gray wool, with a black mohair cap band. The cap band and crown are piped in the pale brown of the signals branch. The black patent leather visor has some pock marks and impressions from age and storage. The interior of the cap shows light wear. The full celluloid sweat shield is intact. The cap lining is manufacturer marked and dated 1939. There is was snag on the upper left side of the cap that left a small hole in the piping and in the wool of the cap just above that spot. There is also a very tiny hole in the piping on the left side of the upper cap body and a small hole in the grey wool at the left side strap button. Overall the cap is in very good condition.
