A large and heavy case, paper covered over wood, for carrying medical supplies. The case is identified to the Imperial Army's 11th Division Medical Corps and bears the date of 1936 as well as the designation of "medic Box". The dimensions of the case are approximately 19 1/2 inches long by 12 inches wide by 10 1/2 inches high. The case is marked on each end with a red cross and bears an identification in painted kanji on one side. The case contains another, smaller, fabric carrying case for medical supplies. The case, which has a removable tray, still contains several packages of bandages and a cloth wrap that was designed to hold medical instruments. The case also contains a number of booklets and documents, most of which have handwritten kanji notations on them. The paper covering on one side of the case has lost some paint and has a tear, neither of which effect the overall appearance or integrity of the case.
