Scarce Army Transport Branch EM/NCO Visor Cap
click for an even bigger image

A very uncommon Third Reich visor cap, being for enlisted or NCO ranks serving in the Transport branch of the German Army. The cap is in the "teller" style, with a green ribbed wool blend top and darker green cap band, both piped in the light blue waffenfarbe of the Army Transport branch. The leather chin strap has a bit of age crazing, and the patent leather visor exhibits light age crazing as well. There are two very minor chips to the edge of the leather visor, and there is a very small hole in the right side of the body of the cap, none of which are at all distracting or even particularly noticeable. The cap shows indications of wear but overall it is very clean, with the body of the cap being free of stains or moth damage. The interior still retains the full original celluloid sweat shield. The stitching is gone from the leather sweat band at the seam in the back and it appears that the original sweat band was a bit short when it was placed into the cap at the time of its manufacture, and this was remedied by the manufacturer with the addition of another narrow section of leather. Overall the cap is in excellent lightly used condition.
