White cotton cloth band embroidered with 1,000 red knots, or stitches called a "Senninbari". The belt was believed to provide protection in battle. The belt shows the expected signs of use and wear in the field. The ends have no ties, and it may have simply been worn flat against the soldier's body beneath his field uniform. Approximately 6 1/2 by 29 inches.
